Win Tickets to Farm Aid 2012; Dress up for Halloween and Visit Chipotle

Monday, October 31st, 2011

www.farmaid.com

Put on your costume  inspired by the family farm and head down to Chipotle Mexican Grill tomorrow after 6pm and you’ll get a $2 burrito. The money benefits Farm Aid’s mission to keep family farmers on the land and Chipotle’s Cultivate Foundation. Chipotle works to source food from family farms, and has supported Farm Aid for a long time.

After you get your “BOORITO,” take a photo of yourself in costume at Chipotle and upload it to Farm Aid’s contest page on Facebook (the actual contest form will go live tomorrow) and you could win VIP tickets to our 2012 concert. The two people whose photos get the most votes win the tickets, but we’ll also be giving away Farm Aid t-shirts and prize packs to five random entrants.

What kind of costume is inspired by the family farm? Get as creative as you want: Be your favorite crop, a farmer, farm animal, or even a Farm Aid artist!

Visit Chipotle’s website to read more about BOORITO and click here to find your nearest Chipotle Mexican Grill.

A few days ago, Farm Aid staff visited a local Chipotle to show how easy it is! We’ve got several family farmers here, a free-range egg, some family farmed bacon and even a friendly barn spider.

A Bigger Celebration for the Smaller Farms

This Halloween, we’re celebrating family farms and their dedication to the land they live on and the delicious food they produce. To join in on the party, come into any Chipotle on Halloween from 6 pm to closing dressed in a costume inspired by the family farm and we’ll hook you up with a burrito, bowl, salad, or an order of tacos made with responsibly raised ingredients for just $2.Have some fun with your costumes. Think crops, farm tools, tractors, silos, or farm animals. Get the proverbial creative juices flowing and you might have a shot at winning a prize in the Costume Contest. In support of our family farming friends, we’re donating the proceeds, up to $1,000,000 to The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation and Farm Aid, two non-profit organizations working to keep farmers on the land and nurture a better agricultural system

Cultivate a Better World Together

The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation is a private foundation committed to creating a more sustainable and healthful food supply and to raising awareness concerning food issues. This is realized through the support of family farmers and their communities, educators and programs that teach younger generations about food matters, along with support for ranchers and farmers who are working to develop more sustainable practices.Over the last several years, Chipotle has contributed more than $2 million to help fund initiatives that support sustainable agriculture, family farming, culinary education and innovation that promotes better food.

For more information, visit cultivatefoundation.org.

Farm Aid’s mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews host an annual concert to raise funds for Farm Aid’s work to keep family farmers on the land and to inspire people to choose family farm food. Since 1985, Farm Aid has raised more than $39 million to help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture, and promote food from family farms.

“Tales From the Blue House” — new album from Insects VS Robots, with Micah Nelson

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

Listen and download new Insects and Robots album only $10.00

Insects vs. Robots long awaited second album Tales From The Blue House is a collection of songs written by the band during 2009 and 2010. At this time The Cozy Castle was at its peak. Owned and run by members of “IVR” The Cozy Castle became a staple in the underground music and art scene of West Los Angeles as a ruleless underground venue, and simultaneously was a home and rehearsal space for IVR. These songs remind me a lot of those days but also remind me of how brilliant my band mates are. We worked really hard on these songs and put something together that is awesome, fun, interesting and moving to me and many others. ENJOY. – Tony Pelusocredits
