The Red Headed Stranger is a welcome friend in these parts, and Willie Nelson will thank fans by performing an intimate show March 16 at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

Tickets start at $5 and go on sale Jan. 31, available at tulsaworld.com/hardrockcasino, the venue box office or by calling 918-384-ROCK. All patrons must be at least 21 years old.

The country music icon’s hit-filled career spans more than half a century, 66 studio albums, 96 singles and 25 No. 1 hit songs on U.S. charts.

He released the studio album “Heroes” in 2012 and features possibly his most eclectic work to date, with covers of Pearl Jam’s “Just Breathe,” and Coldplay’s “The Scientist.” The album includes guest appearances by numerous musicians, including his son Lukas Nelson, Ray Price, Merle Haggard, Snoop Dogg, Jamey Johnson and Sheryl Crow.

His more classic fare includes signature songs “On the Road Again,” “Always on My Mind,” “If You’ve Got the Money I’ve Got the Time,” “Blue Skies,” “Georgia on My Mind,” and “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.”

He’s also written seven books, including his 1988 memoir Willie: An Autobiography.” Last year, he released another memoir with the help of author Kinky Friedman, the New York Times best-selling “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die: Musings From the Road.”
