It’s been almost a year in the making, but KUT’s award-winning “Texas Music Matters” is ready to air a one-hour documentary, “Amazing Grace: The Story of Willie Nelson,” at 11 a.m., Sunday April 27 and at 2 p.m. April 29.

Produced by David Brown, “Amazing Grace” features rare demo recordings of Nelson’s early sessions and tracks the songwriter’s life from childhood to the present. Besides Willie, Sister Bobbie and Poodie Locke, others interviewed include Norah Jones, Kris Kristofferson and John Mellencamp.

The program is being distributed nationally by the Public Radio Exchange at www.PRX.org and will be available for download here beginning April 29.
