Miss Mona, of Texas, suffered a stroke and passed away yesterday morning. She loved Willie Nelson so much, and his face would light up when he saw her in the crowd. And as Janis from Texas pointed out, Mona was the only person she ever saw Willie stop a show for. At Carl’s corner he stopped, and got down and gave her a hug from the stage. She will be missed, but I know she’s still with us and we will still feel her presence at Willie Nelson and Family Shows. The way I figure, now she’ll never have to miss another concert.
Another fan posted at www.ClubLuck.WillieNelson.com that if anyone would like to make a donation to the Christopher House hospice in Mona’s name, they may do so by phoning (512) 322-0747. The stone will be laid in the courtyard at the hospice.
