They just announced that pre-sale tickets to a WN&F show in Glen Allen VA (9/23/15) go on sale through Club Luck tomorrow, May 18th, for one day.

They sell premium packages that include the ticket, along with the goodies.  It’s pricey, but worth getting at least once because it’s some pretty cool stuff.  I did it once.

Willie Nelson’s Club Luck is having a contest this month, and giving away this cool set of glasses, five sets, actually to five lucky winners.   These are not available in stores anywhere, the way to win a pair is to join Club Luck, and enter the contest.  It’s only $29.00 a year for membership, and the greatest benefit, even more than the cool merchandise, is that you get a chance to buy tickets to Willie Nelson & Family shows before they go on sale to the public.  Whether you only go to see the band when they are in your city, or if, like me, you enjoy spending all your disposable income on seeing the band — we all want to sit up front.  It’s not the front row, always, but it’s always in the first four or five rows.  Close enough to make eye contact, mostly, and catch a bandanna.   Contest ends 4/23

The Old Farts and Jackass Tour

The Old Farts and Jackass tour began in Durham, NC on January 18th at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Then Saturday night Willie Nelson and Family performed in Bowling Green, KY at the Performing Arts Center before heading south to The Tabernacle in Atlanta. But now it’s January 20th, excitement is in the air, and Inauguration Day is finally here.

After the annual Bacon and Egg luncheon, the Swearing Ceremony took center stage as Willie stepped forward and placed his hand on Peg Bible. The Joint Congressional Committee spoke of the logistics of presenting such an unpresidential event in an old Church and of security concerns that have plagued the event from the beginning. The growing crowd stood in line for hours and wondered. “What will he wear? Willie cut bangs?”

After much anticipation Willie Nelson finally emerged. Dressed in an all black ensemble by American designer Levi Strauss, the co-leader of the Old Fart Party mesmerized the crowd with the first dance, Whiskey River.

The lip synching controversy would take over the headlines later, but the official answer from Nelson’s camp remained no. No Willie Vanillie here ladies and gentlemen, no tricky audio antics. Willie sang it all live. What we have elected to see is just a man, his band, his family and his guitar. The audience in Atlanta will testify before any congress; country is in good hands.

Willie Nelson’s website has a new look!   In honor of Willie Nelson’s 80th birthday this year, they have re-designed the website.   Also, the Club Luck fan club has been changed, and you will need to re-activate your Club Luck account, and Club Luck is sending out e-mails to members with that information.  

The website has the latest news about Willie Nelson & Family, including tour schedue, photos, ticket information, new music,  and an on-line store with lots of music, books, clothing, hats and other one-of-a-kind memorabilia.
