Thanks, Tom Conway, who shared this photo from Maui, where he played a show last night at Charley’s:
Thank John Herring for all his great videos from the Heartbreaker Banquet, like this one of Tom Conway, Lily Meola and Micah Nelson, performing, “Bad Boys.”
This will be a magical night for beautiful music. So much talent. Make your reservations soon.
Willie Nelson, Lily Meola, “Will You Remember Mine”.
Gannon’s After Dark is proud to present an intimate concert with Maui’s own Lily Meola on Sunday, December 28th at 9:00 pm. Lily will be joined by Tommy Conway on guitar and Marcus Johnson on bass. Tickets are $15 and seating is limited so purchase your tickets early. Tickets may be purchased by calling 808-875-8080.
Lily has recorded a duet and performed with Willy Nelson. Her fans include Michale Buble and producer-guitarist Bob Rock, Pat Simmons (The Doobie Brothers), and Makana. Although Lily is a young talent, she has “a voice 10 times her size”, according to Makana. Michael Buble says, “Lily is a force of nature who as an artist defies all genres of music. I am a huge fan and look forward to watching her career blossom.”
“Great to see my friend Dallas Wayne at my gig tonight – all the way from Austin, TX!” — Tom Conway
Oh, Dallas, you are a long ways from Austin. Tom Conway wrote on Facebook that Dallas Wayne, singer-song-writer-Sirius/XM producer and on air host, sat in with him Monday night at his show in Maui. There’s a couple of handsome musicians. (Thanks Sandra for taking the photo,)
Thank you Tom Conway, for sharing the photo of his souveniers from his excellent adventure in Texas.
Listen to Tom Conway’s music at his website and youtube, and you will see why this talented guitar player has been frequently invited to sit in with Willie Nelson. He is amazing, he’s a nice guy, too, and a big fan who appreciates the honor of sitting in with Willie Nelson and Family. I like that that.
You might not recognize him behind those Foster Grants, but that is master guitarist extraoridinaire, or whatever adjectives I can think of to describe an amazing guitarist, — Tom Conway, on a whale-watching, reef clean-up excursion off Maui, with his lovely humanitarian wife Sandra.
Tom toured with Willie Nelson and Family last year for a few shows, including Farm Aid in Saratoga Springs, NY. To learn more about Tom and his music (his cds are fantastic, he’s such a maestro):
Join Tom in his support for Farm Aid and family farmers.
Enjoy this beautiful rendition of the classic “Sleigh Ride” by Tom Conway and his Hawaiian gypsy jazz band, Gypsy Pacific. If this doesn’t get you in the holiday mood, I don’t know what will.
If you love their music as much as I do, and I know you will, you can buy a copy of their album at Tom Conway’s website:
Here’s the band with Willie Nelson, singing, “Peaceful Solution”
Willie Nelson, Tom Conway at Charley’s, in Pa’ai.
Great news for music lovers, and especially for fans of Tom Conway’s guitar playing (of which I have been one for a long time), Willie Nelson has invited Tom, who lives and performs in Maui, to join him for a few shows this month. Tom will join Willie for his performance on the QVC show on Thursday, September 12th, and will tour through September, including the Farm Aid Show in Saratoga Springs on September 21, 2013.
Can’t wait to hear Tom with the band. I have been enjoying his music since he and his former band recorded Willie Nelson’s, “Peaceful Solution” song.
Willie Nelson recorded with Tom’s former band, “Gypsy Pacific”a few years ago, and Tom later flew to Austin to record more songs. No news of that album’s release, but I look forward to it when it is! The band performed a beautiful version of Peaceful Solution’, written by Willie and Amy Nelson, which is included in Tom Conway’s solo album
“I have been a fan of Django Reinhardt since I first heard him & Stephane Grapelli with the Hot Club Band from France. Tom Conway and his band play Django’s music right along side the other great Django bands – they can hold their own…and more! I know Django would be proud that his music is so elegantly presented on the island of Maui and now for the rest of the world.”
– Willie Nelson
