There is a Peaceful Solution

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

The Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute (http://WillieNelsonpri.com) has posted a beautiful version of the song written by Willie Nelson and daughter Amy, A Peaceful Solutionperformed by Tommy Boyd.   Their slide show and arrangement of this song about peace are moving.

You can see all the videos and hear all the versions of this song at the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute, www.WillieNelsonPRI.com.

“It was a lot of fun trying to come up with my own version of Willie’s song. I tried using acoustic and electric guitar, just mandolin, some harp, fast or slow. I decided on this version and hope people will find something they like about the video.

Thanks so much for featuring it on Willie’s PEACE site. Many thanks to Willie and Amy Nelson. To Liz for all her kind, thoughtful, and generous comments to all the people that sent their music or videos in. Lastly, Thanks to all the folks that work or contribute to the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute. Keep up the good works.”

There is a Peaceful Solution

The Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute (www.WillieNelsonPRI.com) has posted this beautiful version of ‘A Peaceful Solution sung by Bram Shiloh.

Why I Chose Art For Peace” by Bram Shiloh

My name is Bram Shiloh and I chose this project because I feel that peace, spiritual peace is almost extinct. I have been involved in working for peace for most of my life and will continue to do so.

The sole purpose of my God-given gift is to spread light, truth, and peace throughout the world. I am motivated by this and am happy to see others being active in this movement.

To me, this project begins with the artists because we are the ones that directly affect the masses with our talent. More specifically, the heart of people must change before anything else.

Artists must stay true and be relentless in spreading light to the masses. It is truly a huge responsibility on our part but it is possible.

1000 Children Sing for Peace (international Day of Peace, 9/21/09)

Friday, August 28th, 2009

A Peaceful Solution to World Peace
by Cynthia Jordan
www.WillieNelsonPRI.com

On International Day of Peace, September 21st, 2009, 100,000 Children, (the most spiritually powerful human beings on the planet) will sing their intention for peace along with gratitude for a peaceful world to shift the energy on the planet to universal friendship and love.

The project was inspired by Willie Nelson’s and Amy Nelson’s song Peaceful Solution.

Music is the universal language and serves as a powerful tool to unify and proclaim our intention of peace with one beautiful voice.

In the spirit of oneness, children around the world will sing the following song in their language or a language they understand every hour on the hour on September 21st, proclaimed as International Day of Peace.

We are the children for a peaceful world
It is our intention to have a peaceful world
We are thankful for a peaceful world
We are thankful for a peaceful world

(The song is available to learn and translated into several languages at
http://www.childrenforapeacefulworld.com/)

English speaking children will also learn the following song written by Willie Nelson and Amy Nelson, adapted for children by songwriter, Cindy Jordan, founder of Children For A Peaceful World.

There is a Peaceful Solution
It’s called a peace resolution.
We are Kids for a Peaceful World

Just like birds of a feather
We can all live together
We are Kids for a Peaceful World

United we stand
Divided we fall
Let’s come together
For the good of all

It’s a dream, to believe in
Get ready to receive it
We are Kids for a Peaceful World

Friends are a treasure
Peace is our pleasure
We are Kids for a Peaceful World

United we stand
Divided we fall
Let’s get together
For the good of all

Just like birds of a feather
We can all live together
We are Kids for a Peaceful World

We see this event as a Peaceful Solution. We will schedule ongoing musical events and gather more and more children as we do. Imagine millions of people around the world singing a universal peace song (uni-verse = one-song) with intention and gratitude at the same time! Recent scientific studies show this can certainly happen.

Can we change the world? You bet we can!

Karl Dallas believes in A Peaceful Solution

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Musician Karl Dallas has recorded ‘A Peaceful Solution,’ the song written by Willie Nelson and daughter Amy, and it is featured at Willie Nelson’s Peace Research Institute (http://WillieNelsonPRi.com.    Karl is joined by friends, and has added his own inspired lyrics to the song.

The artist says:

Like Pete Seeger says, “peace in the world, or the world in pieces”.

My earliest memory of peace activism was my mother taking me on a demonstration protesting against UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain’s sell-out to Hitler in 1938. I was seven years old.

We didn’t manage to stop war then and there have been many wars since … Vietnam, Gulf, Afghanistan, Iraq, but we’ve got to keep on keeping on, I believe.

Visit Willie Nelson’s Peace Research Institute
(http://WillieNelsonPRI.com) and watch and enjoy all the versions of this song that have been submitted.  Or, if you feel inspired, learn now you can record and submit your own video!

Thanks to Liz and Jay for all the information and information they provide at the site.

I believe in the dream, my dream, Liz’s dream, Jay’s dream, Willie’s dream, Rattlesnake Annie’s dream, and Amy’s dream I could go on and on. We all have the same dreams and thoughts. And we have done well in getting the word out there. Soon the Positive will be more than the negative and there will be Peace on earth !!!   God Bless all !!

Amy and Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson and daughter Amy Nelson wrote the song, ‘A Peaceful Solution,’ last year, on Willie’s tour bus on his way to play the Coachella concert in California.  But it didn’t end there — they freely offered their beautiful song about peace to any artist who wanted to record it.

There is a peaceful solution. It’s a peace revolution.
Now let’s take back America.
There’s a war and we’re in it, but I know we can win it.
So let’s take back America.

It’s a dream, so believe it.
Now get ready to receive it.
And let’s take back America.

And when the war is over and we’ve won it
let’s remember how we done it so we don’t have to do it again.

There is a peaceful solution. It’s called a peace revolution.
Now let’s take back America.
There’s a war and we’re in it, but I know we can win it.
Now let’s take back America.

There was a peace resolution
and a peaceful revolution
and the peaceful solution saved America

because peace is life. and war is death–as long as i’ve known Hope(always)–Life motivates me, the hope that our civilization will come to realize that Kindness and Understanding are the true roads to Peace and Happiness for all Mankind.

ideas? that we all think more every day about Compassion, Kindness, Hope, and Peace and then apply more understanding of each other’s pressures and problems.

a sensitivity, an awareness of how short life really is. how all is fleeting
.  how each and every moment, like right now, will never come again—the importance of all this,

the importance of Love. the importance of Hope. the importance of Peace–with these ideals forever focused, concentrated in our mindsets and planted in our hearts;

we can change the world–we can grow in Peace

A Peaceful Solution Across America

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Willie Nelson’s Peace Research Institute (http://WillieNelsonPRI.com) posted this video created by Cherri, of her road trip, with the soundtrack of ”A Peaceful Solution’ recorded by Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real.

Cherri posts at her youtube site
http://www.youtube.com/user/CherrisVids
:

Be good to yourself. Life’s experiences are meant to move us closer to realizing who we truly are. Every challenge takes us nearer to a knowing that, at our core, we are Spiritual Beings. And, always remember that things can change. Good things can happen in the blink of an eye. One moment you may be mad at the world and thinking about giving up on all that is near and dear to you – and, in the next moment, a spark of love may warm your heart and bring newfound joy into your life. Your Spirit may soar. Keep moving forward.

From The Intenders Handbook

My Intention for today is:
I intend that I am always moving forward toward the manifestation of my dreams.

The Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

For several years, the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute(www.WillieNelsonPRI.com) has provided resources for people seeking a peaceful solution in their lives and in their world, and to connect with others seeking the same.   Jay and Liz have done a great job of bringing people together and providing fresh content and inspiration at the site.

Here they are now…

These are the beautiful faces behind the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute:  Liz, Willie Nelson, and Jay.

Blake and Angel have created a video using the song written by Willie and Amy Nelson, ‘A Peaceful Solution.”  Willie and Amy have both recorded this song about peace, and you can hear their versions at the website.  Willie has recorded many versions, reggae, gypsy jazzy, a capella, with his full band.  Blake and Angel chose his Jazzy verion for their video.

The Artists say…

“Angel and I believe strongly in this very simple statement:

Pass Happiness Forward!
Love is better than hate.
Together we can make this world a wee bit nicer…

For our video version we took the viewpoint of being outside the USA and looking in. Angel is Canadian and I am an American, but I have not lived there in what seems at times like a very long time.

So we did a peaceful flight over America focusing on some of her majestic beauty. Sometimes we feel that people forget what they actually have, and though things look very dark and very messed up at times we believe that if people focus on the good they can make it happen!!

All you need is a peaceful solution!

Thank you”

Willie Nelson and Marty Dread, ‘Take No Part’

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Willie Nelson & Marty Dread, Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespear perform, “Take No Part” written by Jack Miller & Marty Dread   This clip is from the new film “Dreadlock Rock.

Jay, of the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute, wrote this at www.WillieNelsonPRI.com:

What we have here is clarity because there can be no doubt on the message in the music and the point of view of the artists. There is no holding back as the artists stand up on stage and loudly proclaim their stand.

What we have here is unrestrained commitment in the face of gigantic forces that oppose the very idea of peace in everything they do. Persistence does not require hope or anything else beyond the ability to draw one more breath.

Persistence born of clarity and commitment will persevere as is proven both by history and the everyday events that surround us today. You can feel this when you watch the video and even more so when you experience this at a live event.

There is a Peaceful Solution

Monday, April 6th, 2009

This is the second recording of   ‘A Peaceful Solution,’ recorded by Kathy, and submitted to the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute (www.WillieNelsonPRI.com)   In this version, Kathy sings the song a cappella.

You can hear many other beautiful recordings of the song written by Willie and AmyNeslon at the site.

Kathy says:

I believe that peace starts within all of us.
and that peace comes from love.
that we should love one another always
by trying always to reach out to one another
even in the littlest of ways, sometimes it’s all that makes a difference
we may think its only a “hi” or only a little smile or
just a little gesture of kindness
but it may be that one little thing that makes the difference
in the life of another
maybe it’s the only kindness they have been shown
or maybe they had a terrible day and that lil thing
made a difference in their day
and it may be the one thing that shows them someone cares about them
and maybe it helps spark a kindness from them to someone else
and then another to another to another
that is to me the most important thing
loving each other and spreading love around.
for to me, in order to have peace:
love is the answer.

promise

www.myspace.com/promiseofthereal

Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real have recorded a beautiful version of ‘A Peaceful Solution,’ and include it on their cd which is available at their concerts.  It was such a nice surprise to hear their version of this song.

All the many, many artists who have recorded this song have their own unique fresh take on the song, based on their own experience of music and peace and justice.  You can hear all the beautiful versions at the Willie Nelson Peace Research website at http://WillieNelsonPRI.com.  Willie Nelson sings the song several times himself, in different genre:   reggae, with his Family band, a capella, with Tom Conway, in a gypsy music mode.

Also, at the site you can be informed and inspired about other’s efforts to bring peace to this world.  They provide a lot of thoughtful information at the site.  Also, you can learn how you can record and submit your version of the song to the website.  Liz and Jay who operate the site, with Willie’s blessing, told me that they send every version sumitted to Willie to listen to, no matter where he is on tour.   That’s really cool!

I know you will enjoy Lukas and his band’s version of ‘A Peaceful Solution.’
