From the golden vocal chords of the legendary Americana artist Willie Nelson comes this astounding cover of Coldplay’s “The Scientist.” I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but after looping this song for the fourth time in a roll and seeing this song used in the Chipotle Mexican Grill viral campaign “Back to the Start,” I must conclude it’s brilliance on every scale.

I have listened to this song seven times straight after discovering it a few hours ago, and I can honestly say that I am blown away. I have chills. This campaign by Chipotle is incredibly moving and heartfelt. The song ties in perfectly with the short, and I felt it deep down. Way to go Chipotle for pushing such a brilliant concept; way to go Willie for creating an instant classic; and way to go Coldplay for recording one of the greatest songs of all time. This is altogether brilliance.
Chipolte used Willie Nelson’s version of Coldplay’s song in their first ever national commercial. The video aired during the Grammy Award Presentation show on Feb. 12th.
