Guthrie works on the pick designs with Budrock Prewitt, (lighting director for Willie Nelson & Family), then Guthrie makes them in his Nevada facility.
Yeah, they are beautiful, aren’t they: Beautiful, collectable, sought after and prized by us Willie Nelson fans, and you know who you are. I have seen Willie Nelson hand guitar picks to fans at shows, or toss them into crowd at end of show. Willie’s crew sticks guitar picks to Willie’s mic stand, andd sometimes a crew member will toss those unused picks into the audience to fans. Poodie Locke was alway generous and shared his guitar picks, and the crew members and band members always share their stash, too. Fans trade them, and you can find Willie Nelson guitar picks on e-bay, but they can be pricey there. I thought you could volunteer to wash the crew’s laundry, a brave venture, and maybe score a couple guitar picks that way. I never tried that, but I talked to a woman who has done the crew’s laundry said that wasn’t the case.
