Happy Birthday, Willie, from the9513

They have been celebrating Willie Nelson’s birthday all week over at www.the9513.com, and maybe longer.  I think lots of folks have been celebrating all week.  I think it’s because Willie has two birthdays (4/29, 4/30), so automatically people are going to celebrate those two days, and then it just stretches out to all week.

Brothers Brody and Brady, yes they’re twins, produce the site, and have crafted an informative, engaging site, a source of information about music and artists, sometimes books.  I have come to rely on it for their news, reviews, interviews, and lively comments written by all the educated music lovers who visit the site.  And on top of it all, they are nice guys and have helped me out more than once, i.e., because of Brody I can post youtube videos here.  So, thank you Brody and Brady.

Today they posted Ten Songs Inspired by Willie Nelson:

1.   Willie the Wandering Gypsy and Me” – Billy Joe Shaver
In the 1970’s Billy Joe Shaver and Willie were close–best friends as Shaver describes their relationship in his autobiography, Honky Tonk Hero. It was during that time Shaver says he saw a part of Willie that he was able to put in “Willie the Wandering Gypsy and Me,” a romanticized song about the essence of Willie.

Thanks for the shout out and kind words, Linda! I’m not sure, but it might have been Brady who helped you with the YouTube videos…I know, similar names and all…sometimes even we get confused 😛

I just can’t tell you twins apart on the internet, Brody. Do you get that all the time? Sorry, you are right, it was Brady who kindly helped me out tht time. But you’re helpful, too!
