Pearl Jam performed at the Isle of Wight Festival in the UK last June, and before the band sang the song, “Breathe” (written by Vedder) he talked about what an honor it was that Willie Nelson covered his song on his new album. He said he liked it so much, and he had listened to it so many times, that now all he can do is hear it the way Willie sings the song and that how now he wants to sing it that way. Then he sings a line imitating Willie’s vocal style. Ed says “He sings it better than me”, before the band joins in and then Eddie sings the song his normal way.
