We need help here in Colorado, folks, with getting the word out about Amendment 64, inviting voters to support the campaign to regulate marijuana like alcohol and tobacco. There are so many advantages to this, and polls show that most adults in Colorado, over half anyway, support the decriminalization of marijuana in Colorado. However, no one’s sure that when those voters go to fill out their ballots, they will vote Yes! Tax it! Regulate it!
And the experts who know these kind of things and run these kinds of campaigns say the best way is to get the word out to people, educate people, point out the benefits (tax income to state, will keep away from teenagers, end black-market distribution and associated crime, permit people to grow hemp and marijuana, etc., etc.) Talking to people, one on one is the best, but that’s never enough people to pass this important piece of legislation. And of course telling lots of people, that takes money. To that end, the Coalition to End Marijuana Prohibition has set up an on-line STORE, and are offering a special package: spend $19.99, and you get a shirt, a sticker, a button.
I know it’s not your state, but if it passes, you will be able to visit Colorado and, with proper id showing you are over 21-years-of-age, you will be able to legally purchase marijuana. And further, legalization has to start somewhere, and it may as well be in 2012 in Colorado. Help us blaze the way, and maybe your state will be next!
