This is an ice bucket from Darrell Royal, coach of Texas Longhorns, and Willie Nelson’s Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament in 1984.    This came from the estate of a lady that was in the liquor business and was friends with the event’s promoters.  Ice Bucket is 11″ long and 8″ in diameter, new and unused.Â

Do you or anyone else happen to know the exact date and location of the golf tournament?
I’ll try to dig up that newspaper again, to find out when that one was. I believe Willie played in several of Coach Royal’s golf tournaments.
My father played in 3 of those tourneys and I have his tropheys from all 3. My father told me it was a weekend long event that ended with Willie picking his guitar till 4 or 5 in the morning each night. It was a crazy party with a little golf on the side!
I have one of the tournaments golf pass. Its wooden and has Willie and Darryl picture carved in it.
