I am genuinely sorry for the confusion I caused with my April Fool’s fictitious Willie Nelson and Family Schedule yesterday. It seemed like a good idea at the time, like most bad ideas do. But I didn’t think anyone would believe that Willie would cancel his Canadian tour and do a month’s worth of shows in Colorado in April. It’s my fantasy, of course, but I didn’t think anyone would believe it could happen.
But, as it turns out, many of you did. I had my cell phone number listed on this site under contact information, but I had to take it off yesterday, because I was getting so many calls about the Colorado tour. And e-mails, and some twitters to my cell phone, which I don’t even know how that works.
Fans out here in the west were giddy with excitement. Thirty days of Willie. New friends wanted to camp out on my floor for the month of April. One person had alerted their employers that they were taking some vacation time. And I felt their pain when I had to break the bad news.
On the flip side, Canadians and some east coast folks were pissed off with me, and wanted some explanation. Their plans were ruined. Of course, they were giddy when I told them it was an April Fool’s Joke.
I think most people realized it was just my misguided fantasy, though, and laughed at me.
But the fake schedule wasn’t the only posting that caused alarm. Some Bonanza fans were upset with the idea of a remake. One Bonanza fan wrote, “There’s a reason no one has made a movie of Bonanza!” But she didn’t say what the reason was, so I don’t know. It was interesting to discover how many Bonanza fans there are out there. Who knew?
A lot of people wanted to buy the Wuii game, but who wouldn’t want to go on tour with Willie Nelson and hang out on his bus with him – even cyberly?
So, the lesson learned here, and there is one, is that it’s okay to spoof video games, or rodeo monkeys, but don’t mess around with Willie’s schedule, and maybe not old t.v. westerns, either.
Again, I apologize for any grief I caused over the schedule thing. Here’s really where Willie Nelson and Family will be:

No worries I am sure everyone understands now, it was a great April Fools joke! I too like most of the idea’s. Have a great day & thanks for the laughs. I know Willie will laugh too as soon as he reads it.
