Important Meeting in Texas about Biodiesel

Important Texas biodiesel meeting to happen Friday

A meeting that’s planned for Friday in Austin, TX, could determine the future of the biodiesel industry in the Lone Star State.

Biodiesel advocate Willie Nelson has expressed concern that the state might actually shut down sales of biodiesel over concerns about certain types of emissions.

But industry officials say the renewable fuel meets all state and federal standards – and they expect to prove that to state environmental authorities.

The meeting, which begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality headquarters, is open to the public with a public comment period available.

It will also be broadcast live on the Internet at To find the meeting at the specified time, click the link entitled “Webcasts and Schedules for Agendas and Work Sessions.”
