Joe Nick Patoski’s New Book About Willie Nelson due out next April

Here’s some great news! Michael Corcoran in  www.austin360.com has reported that Joe Nick Patoski’s biography about Willie Nelson “Willie Nelson:  An Epic Life”, will be released next April.  Joe Nick’s articles written about Willie (in No Depression Magazine, and all the Texas Monthly Magazines, etc) are my favorites.   I love reading what Kinky Friedman has to say about Willie, of course, but I always learn something I didn’t know when I read Joe Nick’s articles. He is a fan, and writes with the true love and respect that Willie Nelson deserves.  I can’t wait to read this book.

In his article, Michael Corcoran said:

“Willie Nelson: An Epic Life” by Wimberley writer Joe Nick Patoski looks to be an epic biography. Publisher Little Brown lists the book, set for release the week before Nelson’s 75th birthday, April 30, at a whopping 480 pages. Patoski conducted more than 100 interviews for the book, which looks to be Willie’s “legacy” biography.

“It’s the most fun I’ve ever had working on a project,” Patoski said in August, soon after he turned in the first draft. He said he was actually a bit sad when he was done. The book not only chronicles Willie’s amazing career and humble upbringing, but it delves into the characters that make up the icon’s extended family.

You can pre-order the hardcover at amazon.com for $27.99.

Yippee! Is he really using Annie Liebovitz portrait of Willie on the cover? I’d love to have that tattooed…
