“Maybe one day, Farm Aid will be a celebration of how well the family farmer is doing.”

It’s hard to find all the right words to convey the mixture of emotions that attending another Farm Aid brings. As a fan, I love the music and this year the music was probably the best I’ve seen (or course, I may say that every year). But, when you think about the reason we are here, it’s sad that 34 years after starting Farm Aid, policies have not changed to help the family farmer.

As a society, we’ve lost our connection to the land. We’ve lost our connection to the people we need every single day, the people that grow our food. So, thank you to Willie, Neil, John, Dave, and all the artists and all the staff & volunteers at Farm Aid that put this festival together each year. Thank you for reminding us to change our daily habits and to reconnect with those that grow our food. Maybe one day, Farm Aid will be a celebration of how well the family farmer is doing.
