“Me and Paul,” and Paula Nelson

Paula Nelson:

“So I’ve been talking about this story on SiriusXM Willie’s Roadhouse with Dallas Wayne…… and every time “Me and Paul” is played on Wednesday’s show.  In case you missed it… The story goes like this.  I was named after my dad’s drummer Paul English and his wife Carlene. A long time ago when I was to be married, I asked Dad and Paul to walk me down the aisle. As we stood in front of the preacher, the preacher asked “Who gives this bride away?”

My dad replied “Me and Paul”. “

You only find true friendship like Paul and Willie once in a lifetime. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I know Willie will miss him

Back in the 90’s before a show in the afternoon at Melody Fair theatre, N. Tonawanda, NY said hi to Paul as he sat with a guy on a rail road tie, eating a vanilla frozen custard, as it stood out… him all dressed all in black. Same day I met Grady Martin and “The Bee man” ! Seen many Willie & Family shows over the years and Paul was just about always smiling..God Bless him , his family and tks for all the unforgettable memories of the Willie Nelson Family..
