I didn’t want April to end without apologizing about the April Fool jokes this year. I am still getting e-mails from people who believed what I wrote, and then got upset when they learned they had been tricked. Last year I wrote that Lana Nelson was writing a tell-all book, and this week I heard from someone who wondered if her book had been published yet. But, didn’t everyone grow up playing tricks on their brothers and sisters on April 1st each year? Anyway, I guess maybe there are some things you shouldn’t joke about.
Like William Shatner. I’m sincerely sorry to those Willie Shatner fans who were excited about Captain Kirk releasing another album, his 8th, a duets album with Willie Nelson. But who wouldn’t love that?
And I apologize to the representive from Papa Murphy’s pizza, who e-mailed that the company had not, in fact, partnered up with Willie Nelson to produce and market a “Wake and Bake” pizza, with marijuana. Not going to happen. Like no one’s ever made the connection between stoners and pizza before. Okay.

And to the guy who didn’t think it fair that Willie Nelson was getting to do his house arrest on his tour bus traveling around the country. It seems that guy had requested a similar deal, and was told that you had to have a permanent address to get house arrest. Sorry, sir, you can’t have house arrest in your van, even if you are living out of your van.
And people who thought we didn’t need more anti-marijuana bills on the books, like the bill introduced that would make it illegal for people to use the internet while they are stoned.
But, of course, the cruelest hoax was the announcement that Willie Nelson had invited us to join him on a 15-day cruise to Northern Europe, including a five day stop in Amsterdam, to celebrate the 4th of July next year. On board entertainment would offer poker, dominoe tournaments, and live music 24/7. Yeah, that wasn’t funny, was it. That cruise would sell out so fast. I don’t think Willie even likes cruises, but I don’t know. Trapped on a boat for 15 days with all us fans, no place to hide, no privacy. I don’t know.
So, that was my last April’s Fools Post. I’m not going to try it again.

I loved that joke about the cruise. I believed it in the first place because Mark and I made a cruise with Celebrity Cruises. Keep up the good April Fools Day jokes, Linda. I’m looking forward to the ones next year!

I thought it was funny, too. I saw them show up in google. Some sites did contact me before they posted, to ask where I got the info. I guess I do need to be more clear that they are April Fool’s spoofs, but whats’ the fun in that.

Linda, I LOVE your April Fool’s jokes. I thought it was hilarious that some of them were making the rounds on the internet. Just goes to show, “you can’t believe everything you read”. LOL I say keep ‘em coming!! I know Willie must get a kick out of them too.
Well, Shoot, I hope this is yet another hoax, because your making an April Fool out of me for the first time years ago was the BEST, please please don’t ever stop. I will handle all the goofballs that don’t have a sense of humor Linda.
