Paula Nelson, Monica Colbi, from Loveland Colorado, who opened up for Paula and the band.
Oh, it’s Paula Nelson Band weekend here at this blog. Paula and the band are back in Colorado, once again throwing a party every night they play, and it is really fun. Really, if you like to have fun and dance, hear an amazing band — and who doesn’t? — come out and see this band. You get to hear Paula Nelson sing songs she wrote herself, and songs that she heard growing up in her musical family (which will be on the band’s next album, ‘Under the Influence’.)
The band plays tonight at Oskar Blues in Lyons, and tomorrow night at Nissis, in Lafayatte. If you live in Colorado, come on out!
It’s always fun to bring friends to a show because they want to see Willie Nelson’s daughter, and then they are so blown away by the band, they leave big fans of Paul and the guys. Landis’ guitar playing (surf music! Hendrix! country!), and Paula’s torchy voice, singing songs she wrote herself, full of her stories — they all make me promise to tell them when the band comes back through Colorado again. And the band is so nice, so accessible to the fans. They hang around until the last fan wanders out to visit, share dirty jokes, take pictures. Last night I was embarrassed, I had to drag a couple of my friends away from Paula, or we’d still be there now, ordering breakfast with the band.
At the Little Bear in Evergreen one time, Landis sister, who might be his biggest fan, yelled out, “He’s the Master of the Stratacaster”, and that about says it. He’s amazing to watch, Kevin Lance on drums, the bass player,, individually, all together they are talented musicians.
Get out and see them when you can. Keep in touch with their tour schedule and goings on at their website, www.PaulaNelsonBand.com. Drummer Kevin Lance has taken over their website and he is busy keeping the site up-to-date, which is so great. Lots of pictures, videos, news. Visit often! And the band has a page on Facebook, and I know Paula, at least, is on Twitter. Treat yourself, go see the band, take along a friend, and your dancing shoes, and $15.00, because you will want to buy a cd. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
They are just such nice people.

Great pictures, wished we were there too!
Looks like a great time……
