Willie Nelson was presented with the following Proclamation by Mayor of San Angelo, Texas, Joseph Lown, who proclamed as Peaceful Solution Day in San Angelo.
Resolution:Â
WHEREAS,Willie Nelson and Family will be appearing at the San Angelo Coliseum tomorrow, Wednesday, March 12, 2008; and
WHEREAS,San Angelo is honored and grateful to Willie Nelson, Sister Bobby, and Family who have exhibited extraordinary, humanitarian efforts such as establishing Farm Aid and creating BioWillie biodiesel; and
WHEREAS, In addition to treating each and every person as if they were a friend, Willie’s musical family continues to demonstrate “living by the Golden Ruleâ€; and
WHEREAS, Willie Nelson and Family have brought almost 70 years of wonderful music into our world with the most recent being “A Peaceful Solution†written and performed by Willie and his daughter Amy Nelson; and  Â
WHEREAS,Willie and Amy Nelson have encouraged people from all over the world to record their own version of “A Peaceful Solution†and submit it to their Peace Research Institute; and
WHEREAS,San Angelo’s own Cindy Jordan and Children for a Peaceful World sing, “There is a peaceful solution; it’s called a peaceful resolution. We are kids in America. Just like birds of a feather, we can all live together.â€Â Â
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Joseph W. Lown, Mayor of the City of San Angelo, Texas, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby recognize and applaud
WILLIE NELSON AND FAMILY
for their dedicated efforts toward making the United States of America a great place to live and especially for working toward “A Peaceful Solutionâ€.
