Shotgun Willie

A portrait of an iconic American performer during the season-opening concert at  the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts is Tracy Camera Club’s September photo of  the month.
Pat Ching of Tracy took the photograph of Willie Nelson  during his two-night concert stand at the Grand, Sept. 11 and 12.  She titled the  print “Shotgun Willie.”

“Since photography was not prohibited, I took  advantage of a relatively unobstructed view from near the rear of the theater to  take several shots — well, many shots,” Ching explained in an email.
She  noted that the musician’s hair was tinted magenta by the stage lighting in the  color image, so she converted it to black and white.  Ching used a Nikon  D300 camera set to 1/180s, f5.6, 240mm at 3200 ISO.
