NEWSWIRE – NYC. It was bound to happen sooner or later. While Willie Nelson has recorded with dozens of artists — he has never sung with Barbra Streisand, and has often commented that he would like to. And now, Sony/Legacy records has announced a new duet album between the two superstars in the works. Barbra Streisand was reached by telephone in Canada, where she is producing a movie she wrote and starred in. “I have always wanted to sing with Willie. I’m a huge fan,” said the star. “I’m thrilled. I am so glad it is finally going to happen.” Nelson, on his bus on tour in Texas said, “I’m looking forward to it. She’s a great gal and a great singer. And a great actor, too.”
Little information is available at this point regarding the songs the two will sing, but the two are reportedly making a list of songs they would like to sing together, including People, The Way You Were, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, Always on My Mind, Crazy, and Me and Bobby McGee. Plans are being made for a future tour together to promote their album, ending with a concert at the Lincoln Center, in New York City next summer.

ha, people fall for any duet album, no matter how outrageous the pairing. Willie is such a generous duet partner. But I don’t know what’s up with Barbra S.; she must hear that Willie would like to sing with him. Why isn’t she on the phone with him? Maybe she doesn’t know…. guess we could start a facebook page.
