Thank you, Willie Nelson! (He talked about my blog on the Bill Mack XM Satellite Radio Show!)

Every Wednesday, or whenever he can, Willie Nelson calls in to the Bill Mack Radio show on XM Satellite Radio (171).  Bill, well known as songwriter, producer, dj, has a radio show on xm satellite radio during the week.  Visit his great website at www.billmackcountry.com for information about times, etc. It’s a talk show, and Bill invites people to call in and talk.   It’s a great show.

On Wednesdays, Willie will call in, from wherever he is all over the country, on tour.  It’s so cool, Bill will ask him where he’s at, and it’s like California, or Texas, or Florida or somewhere, calling from his bus.  A couple years ago, Willie played three shows here in the area:  he did his annual Red Rocks show, and then he played at the Aspen Jazz Fest, and then he went to Casper, Wyoming.    When we pulled in to Casper, it was Willie Wednesday, and so we pulled over and listened, knowing Willie was somewhere in town talking to Bill.

And today on the show, Willie talked about my blog!  Isn’t that exciting?  He gave the site address out several times:  “It’s still is still moving.com.  Like my song.” He said he’d never met me, but that one of his fans had made a website about him.   (Willie, what you do you mean, we’ve never met?  What about the waves, and the kisses, and the smiles, the hats you’ve thrown me, all the bandanas you’ve tossed to me, and I’m the one who handed you a joint at Carl’s Corner in July 04.  Remember?)

But, really, Willie, if you’re reading this, I want to thank you so much for the kind words you said today on the radio about the blog.

And, well, while I’ve got your attention, thank you very much for all the work you do to bring Peace to the world.  And thank you for your song-writing, and your singing, and stellar guitar playing, and the Willie Nelson and Family Band, and all the shows you’ve done, and for your movies, and your books.

And thanks for supporting the troops in all the ways you do, and your work for the benefit of farmers, and promoting alternative fuels, and all the other ways you are so generous with your music and your time.

There, I’ve got that out of my system!

congratulations on willie’s mention. :) see? he’s watching and reading.

you do a great job, by the way. keep it up. i tune in every day.

i do, however, think that billmackcountry should post the willie wednesday conversations as mp3s on the netsite. that way, those of use without satellite radio can listen. :)

Thanks, MikeKy. I heard it last night, and was so excited.

I agree, that would make a good podcast to dowload. Maybe we can ask Bill Mack if he can make it available? But xm Satellite might have their rules about that. I’d like a transcript, too.

I use to drive an 18 wheeler but quit in 2005. there is a song i heard in
the wonderful state of Texas. the chorus says “I find it hard to kiss the same lips at night that chewed my ass out all day. It is pretty funny and i’d like to hear it on satelite radio.

  6. I have a Xm radio in my car. And also on the motorcycle. Bill I listen to you and your group on the radio nearly everyday. And on Wednesday also, when Willie’s on. I love the program, love the old songs you play. I have a local band of my own, and leraning lots of songs from your station. My band name is Judy and the Drifter’s. I like to play alot of the old country music. Keep up the good work, and like to say hi to you and your wife. Have a nice day and say hi also to Willie.
