This day in Willie Nelson history: “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” (2/9/1975)

On February 9, 1975, Willie Nelson recorded, ‘Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain’, as part of his “Red Headed Stranger” album, at Autumn Sound in Garland Texas.  The song was included in his “Red Headed Stranger” album, and became number on on the country music charts. The song was written by Fred Rose, and originally recorded by Roy Acuff in 1945. Eddy Arnold sang it in 1963. Hank Williams also performed the song on the “Mother’s Best Flour” radio show.
