This day in Willie Nelson history: Toby Keith’s “Broken Bridges” movie opens

On September 8, 2006, Toby Keith’s movie “Broken Bridges” opens. Willie Nelson appears in a fund-raising concert organzized by Toby Keith’s character in the movie. Toby Keith makes his feature film debut, starring along with Kelly Preston, Lindsey Haun, Tess Harper and Burt Reynolds.


Broken Bridges
is a bittersweet story of former high school sweethearts Bo Price (Keith) and Angela Delton (Preston) who return home after the deaths of their younger brothers, forcing them to deal with ghosts of the past and their uncertain future. Keith plays a country music singer who has fallen from the spotlight and faces life changes after coming home, reuniting with his true love and meeting his 16-year-old daughter (Haun) for the first time.

Broken Bridges is a journey of discovery about shattering preconceived notions and reinventing one’s own concepts of family, reconciliation and acceptance.
