Trumpeter Thomas Marriott has recorded an album entitled The Willie Nelson Project, which is set to be released in late 2007. Marriott recorded the album in the studio with Wayne Horwitz, Rick Mandyck, Ryan Burns, Geoff Harper, Mark Taylor and Matt Jorgensen. On the album, he reworked some of Willie’s material to fit his modern five-piece electric jazz group.Â
On August 11, he will play perform the Willie Nelson Project, at the Seasons, Yakima, Washington.
He has some sample clips posted from the album at his website.  On the Road Again is surprisingly sad played on the trumpet, and very beautiful.Â
