As the sun set behind Lone Peak and the stars began to shine, Willie Nelson wowed the crowd in Big Sky for a magical night of music on Friday, September 3.
The concert was the biggest show the Council has ever put on, said Brian Hurlbut, Big Sky Arts Council’s general manager.
According to Hurlbut approximately 4,700 tickets were sold and several hundred handed out free of charge- totaling over 5,000 attendees at the show.
“We’ve had nothing but positive feedback,” said Hurlbut. “I think Willy played well and got the crowd excited. A lot of people commented that it was cool to have him in Big Sky for another great show.”
The concert was the last of many live shows put on by the Big Sky Arts Council this summer.
“It was a good way to end a summer of great music in Big Sky,” said Hurlbut. “With the weather the way it was and then the stars coming out, it was a perfect night.”
The proceeds from the concert go towards bringing more music to Big Sky next year- including the free Thursday night concert series at the Town Center Pavilion that was a success this summer
