Janis picked me up at the Austin airport at 11:00 p.m tonight., and she gave me a tour through downtown Austin, which looked very beautiful at midnight, with the rain and the fog softening everything and no traffic.
We went by Ming’s Cafe, where Paula Nelson was scheduled to play, but we got there after midnight and they were closed.
No problem, though, we went next door to Kerby Lane for a late night snack. The place was packed with young twenty-somethings – where do those young kids get all their energy anyway.
We are so excited about the Willie Nelson and Family show tomorrow night at the Austin Music Hall! Also scheduled to perform are Paula Nelson, Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel, and Billy Bob Thornton and the Box Masters.
It feels great to be back in Texas, with a couple of Willie Nelson and Family shows to look forward to!
