“Our friend, music-lover and long-time Willie fan, Steve, is also a great orthopedic surgeon that we operate with in Flagstaff. He and his wife Kristi had a baby 7 months ago and named him after Waylon Jennings, and at the Flagstaff show, Kristi was able to get her much anticipated picture of Willie & Waylon, which they will cherish for years to come. While this opportunity made the excitement level high, the real treat came from the GREAT on-stage performance later that evening. Waylon, Kristi and Steve had front row seats next to us for the WN&F show. Waylon slept through the first couple of songs, but woke up when Willie said, “Let’s do one for Waylon.” With a little help from Katrina, little man Waylon even snagged a bandana tossed from the stage. Even though the summer evening was cool, Willie and the band were hot and played amazingly with a blazing energy, especially considering we were a mile and a half high (and that’s just the elevation). Sound was great and Budrock’s lighting was beautiful. It was an evening that this bunch will never forget!!! In the pictures below, Waylon is wearing the onesie “I LOVE WILLIE” that Katrina got him to mark his 1st Willie Nelson and Family show.”
