Willie Nelson and harmonica player Mickey Raphael were in the Pedernales recording studio in Austin yesterday, and recorded on “Desperados Waiting for a Train,” — a tribute to Guy Clark.
Willie Nelson and Family are also in the Austin studio recording this week.

The Guy Clark tribute album will be released in November of 2011 to coincide with Guy’s 70th Birthday. It will be called “Stuff That Works.” Other songs on the album will include
Rodney Crowell (“That Old Time Feeling,”);
Emmylou Harris & John Prine (“Magnolia Wind”);
Joe Ely (“Dublin Blues”);
Radney Foster (“L.A. Freeway”);
Jack Ingram (“Stuff That Works”);
Robert Earl Keen (“Texas 1947”);
Kris Kristofferson (“Hemingway’s Whiskey”);
Ryan Bingham (“Let Him Roll”);
Hayes Carll (“Worry B Gone”);
Verlon Thompson (“Good Love After Bad”);
Terry Allen (“Old Friends”);
The Trishas (“She Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere”);
Vince Gill (“Randall Knife”);
Terri Hendrix (“Picasso’s Mandolin”).
Also, Patty Griffin, Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt have also committed to recording songs for the tribute album.
