“Pen and ink on Steinbach paper 27×36 cm (no. 1353-2009) – Inspired on a Johnny Cash song “A Backstage pass To A Willie Nelson Concert”….

One night I had a vision that I had received from Johnny Cash a backstage pass for a Willie Nelson concert.  After the show Willie Nelson came to me and said “Where is my picture, you always paint Elton John, Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam and George Strait etc… Billy Joel, why not me?” I stumbled that I didn’t know why and felt very embarrassed.

Was I there? Maybe I was, duh! Anyway, the next morning I drew Willie. “Willie, this one’s for you, man. You were always on my mind”.
