When Gilda Radner died of cancer in 1989, she left behind a rich comedic legacy and millions of fans, and several of those fans contributed to this tribute CD. In addition to the songs contributed by friends and supporters, the cd includes two comic clips from Radner herself—a Lisa Loopner piano recital of “The Way We Were” and a graduation commencement speech by Roseanne Roseannadanna.
Most moving track is one contributed by husband Gene Wilder, singing a cappella version of “Ohio” from the Leonard Bernstein musical Wonderful Town. Proceeds from sale of cd to Gilda’s Club, a free non-profit support community for those touched by cancer.

She was such a beautiful person……..will always love her…………
I am reading her autobiography right now. What an amazing person! I’m glad that her legacy is living on and I will definitely buy a copy of this CD. I’m also a big Bacon Brothers fan and thrilled to see that they are included in this tribute. Brown Eyes is a beautiful and moving song.
Thanks for mentioning the book! I’m going to look for it.
I am so glad to see that the Bacon Brothers were part of this special cause. Gilda was such a life force and it’s only fitting that other life forces, such as The Bacon Brothers, are included in honoring her. I’ve always loved the song, “Brown Eyes.”
Gilda was a brilliant performer. What a wonderful tribute from such a variety of talented artists from Willie Nelson to Harry Connick Jr. to The Bacon Brothers. And it’s all for a very good cause.
I loved Gilda Radnor. Her bits on Saturday Night Live are amoung some of my favorite memories from college. Reading the song titles and artists on this tribute CD brought a smile to my face. I am especially happy to see one of my favorite Bacon Brothers songs is on it.
