Photographer Glenn Dawn took this picture of Willie Nelson from Farm Aid 1993, in Ames, Iowa, that wasa featured on the September 6, 1994 issue of Country Weekly. He got in touch with me about the picture, and sent another one from the show. Thank you, Glenn.
“At the time of Farm Aid VI I owned a small photography business catering primarily to the legal community. My work was mostly used as exhibits in court proceedings. Pictures of accident scenes, damaged property and the like. Sometimes I would submit my work to local newspapers. I contacted Willie’s publicist about the concert and they granted me a Press Pass for the event in Ames, Iowa. Additionally, during the same year they arranged for me to meet Willie while he was appearing at our baseball stadium [in Des Moines, Iowa] in concert. He was kind enough to autograph a few copies of my pictures and I let him keep a couple of copies for himself. Don’t know what he did with the copies I gave him.”
