May God send comfort to you and your family at this time . Your Aunt Hope is soaring now and she is with you in spirit! You will be in my thoughts and prayers my friend!
Thank you all for your kind words and support. Aunt Hope (Hopal Imogene — isn’t that a pretty name?) was my dad’s sister, the survivor of 12 children of my grandma and grandpa Banks. Both my parents were killed in a car accident when I was 12, and she was one of my mom and dad’s many siblings who stepped in and supported me and my sister and brothers over the years.
It’s been a hard week. I moved out of my house, in with her out here in the country a year and a half ago to help my brother, who lives next door, to help care for her. We had hoped she could pass away at home, surrounded by her dogs she loved, and watching the rabbits, ducks chickens and pheasants that my brother raises, out her window. But last week she took a turn for the worse and we had to take her to the emergency room, ICU, hospital, then hospice center. Her body just wore out. I know she is at peace now.
Thanks again, for your kind thoughts. It has been hard, but prayer, Willie Nelson’s gospel music, Grace and the kindness of friends has helped me through this.
Linda, I hope you find comfort in knowing that many people are thinking of you, and sending prayers at this sad time.
I hope Willie’s wonderful music continues to give you much comfort.
