Willie Nelson lets go of Austin Opera House (9/21/1988)

Willie Nelson has turned over ownership and management of the Austin Opera House to Tim O’Connor and Morris Lyda of Entertainment Complex, Inc. of Austin.  O’Connor has served as the manager of the downtown entertainment nightspot since it opened in 1977.

No official word yet on why the local legend is relinquishing control of the popular music hall to long-time manager O’Connor.

    Beautiul poster. Willie has been an insperation for so many artist. It would be nice if there could be an exposition of all those great posters, paintings etc.

    I know what you mean, Monique. Steve Brooks, whom I wish you could have met when you were in Dallas, had a show last January of his original posters; I would have loved to go to that. I would like to go to an art show of all the paintings, sketche, sculptures of Willie. That would be a great show! So many like to paint, sketch him, etc. His face is so unique.
