Tickets go on sale Friday for the Last of the Breed Show at the Champlain Valley Fair.
ESSEX JUNCTION — Willie Nelson is returning to Vermont, and this time he’s bringing a couple of his famous friends.
The country-music veteran, who performed a sold-out show last summer at the Shelburne Museum, is playing Sept. 2 on the second-to-last day of the Champlain Valley Fair. He’ll be joined by Merle Haggard and Ray Price, fellow country legends with whom Nelson recorded the recent two-CD set “Last of the Breed.”
The three are expected to perform as a trio and also individually. Tickets cost $39.50-$46.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Flynn Center box office in Burlington; online at www.flynntix.org; or by phone at 863-5966.
The fair’s schedule is still filling out, but shows booked so far include Trace Adkins and Terri Clark on Aug. 25; the “Bad Boys of Rock” tour featuring Hinder, Buckcherry and Papa Roach on Aug. 26; and Brad Paisley headlining a country-music show Aug. 31.
