Willie Nelson announced last week that he had decided to marry again — several times in fact.
Nelson, speaking to CNN from his ranch outside of Provo, said, “Well, I’ve been thinking about it for years. Everywhere I go, girls are asking me, ‘Will you marry me Willie? Marry me, Willie.’ And it’s hard to keep saying no. So, it just kind of made sense. I’ve been married most of my life. I like being married.”
When asked how his current wife Annie felt about his decision, Nelson said, “Well, you know, Annie spends most of her time in Hawaii. And she doesn’t watch much television. So, I’m thinking she may never find out about it.”
Nelson said that he had been approached by the Fox Network to film a reality show about his plan to take on additional wives. “Yeah, the folks at Fox called me, and said they liked the idea, and could they follow along and film me. And I said, sure, why not?” Â
Fox has announced their plans for the show, which will include holding tryouts in cities on Willie’s tour. They have already put up a website for women interested in trying out to marry Willie at www.marrymewillie.com. No details were released about what the tryouts would entail.
