Music legend Willie Nelson and actor Woody Harrelson will host Willie & Woody’s All Star Texas Hold ‘Em Charity Tournament September 27 at the Hustler Casino Los Angeles. Longtime pals, they’ll be joined by 200 registrants and guests in a no-limit tournament that also include dinner and a silent auction.
Proceeds from the event’s $500 buy-ins, $200 re-buys and $100 spectator seats will benefit the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance, dedicated to educating the public about community-based biodiesel efforts. For years now, Nelson has run his tour bus on biodiesel and his name graces a biodiesel brand called BioWillie. In fact, CBS’ 60 Minutes ran a piece about it all a few years back.
The event’s silent auction will feature Ziggy Marley’s personal Ovation acoustic guitar, an original framed and autographed Farm Aid 2008 artist laminate, a Jack Johnson-autographed framed lithograph and a “Mating Flight Crane” silver bell from renowned silver sculptor Leonard Kamhout.
Registration and guest seating are limited. To take part in the charity tournament, call the Hustler Casino at 301-719-9800 or contact the venue online at www.hustlercasinola.com.
