When Logan Blade was two-years-old, he was diagnosed with Autism. Soon after, his speech limited from babbling and trying to say “Mama” or “Dada” to nothing. When he reached kindergarten, Logan’s parents found out he could read and “spell words like Encyclopedia and Astronaut”, although he could only answer “yes” or “no” to questions.
At around 3-years-old, Logan began playing the piano even though he never took a lesson. Once he began taking music lessons, his music teacher, Kim Sutton, learned he could sing. He does not speak, but he sings beautifully. According to Logan’s bio on midtnmusic.com, you can “put a microphone in his hand and you know there is a God because he has perfect pitch…He can also hear a song and then play it by heart.”
At a recent performance, he blew everyone away with a rendition of Willie Nelson’s “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain”. Nelson was so moved by the performance that he shared it on his own Facebook page. “Logan is Autistic,” he wrote in the caption. “He has little to no speech. But he can sing Willie Nelson’s music. Great job Logan!”
Logan even tried to emulate Willie’s unique twang and it’s very apparent that he feels extremely comfortable on stage! Watch Logan’s amazing performance below.
