He just can’t wait to get on the show again. Willie Nelson, who launched “Austin City Limits” with a 1974 pilot episode that ushered in what’s not the longest-running music television series ever, will be at ACL Live on Nov. 19 to tape his 18th appearance on the programzhgk.

That’s one of two tapings announced today to close out the show’s 44th season. The other is Nov. 26th with August Greene, the all-star collaboration between hip-hop star Common and renowned jazz producers Robert Glasper (keyboards) and Karriem Riggins (drums) that appeared at South by Southwest in March after releasing an album.

Nelson has taken part in two Austin City Limits Hall of Fame shows in recent years, including his own induction into the first class in 2014. But this will be his first full taping of the program in nine years. The performance will be livestreamed via the ACL-TV YouTube channel.

Tickets to both the Nelson and August Greene tapings will be distributed for free via email lottery about a week before each taping. Check the show’s website and social media pages for announcements as the taping dates draw near. If you’re not fortunate enough to get a ticket to Willie’s taping, he’ll be back at the venue Dec. 29-31 for regular ticketed concerts ($99-$157) to ring in the new year. Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real open all three shows.
