www.newsblaze.com writes about the tribute-album and memoir/biography written by son John, and his comments on the projects, both set to be released June 5, 2007:
The CD, “Anchored in Love: A Tribute to June Carter Cash,” boasts an impressive talent line-up including tracks by Elvis Costello, Billy Bob Thornton, Emmylou Harris, Carlene Carter and Ronnie Dunn, and Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson.
John Carter Cash, who produced the tribute CD, talks about the Emmylou Harris track, “Song for John.”
“Emmy had been dear friends with my mother and father since the 1970s. She knew my parents’ love for each other and how strong it was; she knew them in a way that gave her the ability to sing this song, which my mother wrote as a love song to my father, directly. I cannot think of another person in the world who could have taken it on and made it so honest and pure. It’s all about Emmy paying respect to my mother and father’s love for each other.”
