Los Lobos (well some of them) and Ray LaMontagne at e-town in Boulder

Dos Lobos: David Hidalgo and Louis Pérez
plus Ray LaMontagne and his band
ve Show: Sunday, Nov 19, 2006   7:00 pm
Location: The Boulder Theater

Okay, here we go, another cozy night at the Boulder Theater with this live e-town taping. This one will be unique, with two of members of Los Lobos —  David Hidalgo and Louie Pérez, of Los Lobos, and Ray LaMontagne scheduled to perform.

Hildago (vocals, guitar, accordion) and Pérez (guitar, vocals, drums, percussion) will play tunes from Los Lobos’ new album “The Town and The City”, which was largely written by the two, along with some old Los Lobos favorites.

Also, playing this double header taping will be singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne Ray, who is bringing his band along this time.

Here’s what the Boston Globe said about them: “Every once in a great while, a voice like Ray LaMontagne’s comes along: instinctively articulate, emotionally arresting, at once tender and torn in places that strike at the human heart.”

Yeah, it’s like that.

In case you didn’t know, e-town is a radio variety show, taped live, usually in Boulder, but they do move around, too (they’re taping a Holiday Special in New York City later this month).  In addition to the artists that ply, they feature their echievement awards, which acknowledge people and groups who have contributed to their community and the world with their good works.

Hosts Nick and Helen Forster join in with the bands for a grand finale at the end of the show, and that’s always worth the price of admission right there.

For more information about e-town, future shows, and a schedule of when this and other shows will be broadcast on commercial and public radio stations nationwide, visit their web site at www.etown.org.
