Lullaby Renditions of Willie Nelson

When I first read about this cd, I thought, ‘Well, if a Willie Nelson fan wants her baby to fall asleep to music, why doesn’t she just play Willie Nelson music (I’m thinking maybe Stardust).’  Then I listened to a copy of the Hushabye Baby/ Willie Nelson album, and I see the the appeal for babies.  It’s gentle, sleepy-time, and it’s Willie Nelson’s beautiful songs.    It definitely relaxes.  I couldn’t listen to the whole album at work today; I struggle as it is to stay awake at work.  But with a baby, I could see how that could work.  It’s not Muzak elevator music; the music is enjoyable with guitars, percussion, banjo, steel guitar, banjo. Adults will enjoy this, too.   I haven’t tried it out on a baby yet, but I am going to find one, and I’ll get back to you about how it goes.

They also have lullaby renditions of music by George Strait, Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, Patsy Cline and more.

The cd includes a cute little booklet, a recipe, farm pictures; nice liner notes.

“When it’s sleep time but your little Punkin’ or Peanut won’t hit the hay, try counting sheep with Hushabye Baby.  We’ve re-imagined Willie Nelson’s best loved songs as blanket-soft instrumental lullabies.  The familiar melodies of Willie’s iconic hits are plucked on a well-worn guitar, while gentle percussion and warm pedal steel lull baby to sweet slumber.  Mom and Dad will also love these dreamy versions of their favorite songs:

Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys
Hello Walls
Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain
On the Road Again
Night Life
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Funny How Time Slips Away
Whiskey River
Always on My Mind
Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground
