With a major snowstorm predicted to hit the Asheville area and most of Western North Carolina Friday and Saturday, have you canceled or rescheduled your event?

Postponed and rescheduled shows
– Saturday night’s show by Willie Nelson at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium has been postponed, the concert promoter said. Patrons should hold onto their tickets for the rescheduled show, promoter Outback Concerts said. It said Further information about the new show date would come later next week.
– St. Joan of Arc dinner/theater scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until next Friday, Feb. 5.
– Haen Gallery’s reception for “A Wintry Mix,” originally scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed. It will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 6.
– The Grove Park Inn’s All That Jazz festival is a definite go for this weekend.
– The Asheville Lyric Opera has moved Friday’s performance of “Don Pasqaule” at Diana Wortham Auditorium to Sunday at 3 p.m. (doors will open at 2:30 p.m.). The pre-show lecture will take place at 2 p.m. in the Forum. Friday tickets will be redeemable for Sunday’s performance, the organization said.
UNCA men’s game moved up
Radford at UNC Asheville men’s basketball game, scheduled for 4:30 p.m., Saturday, has been changed to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Urgent care facility closes
For patient and staff safety, Sisters of Mercy Urgent Care facilities closed early today. A determination will be made early Saturday as to whether it is safe to open any of our centers (most normally are open from 11-5 on weekends).
Parks and Recreation
The following facilities and activities operated by the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (PRCA) department are closed or canceled:
– Youth Basketball at Asheville Middle School
– Adaptive Bowling at Star Lanes
– WNC Nature Center
– Food Lion Skate Park
– Asheville Municipal Golf Course
– All Community and Senior Centers
