“Country’s most significant outlaw musician turned 84 Saturday and was making his first festival appearance since releasing his latest album, ‘God’s Problem Child.’ He waited in his bus, parked right up to the back of the Palomino stage, until about 30 minutes after his show was supposed to start. Then he and his guests, including his son, singer-guitarist Lukas Nelson, disembarked and were greeted by a crowd of friends, who had gifts and a chocolate, guitar-shaped cake waiting for him. Willie blew out a candle on the cake and walked on stage in front of a full house clamoring to celebrate his birthday.”
