The wait for American Music Superstar Willie Nelson’s performance in Brevard County Saturday night was well worth it  – as more than 6,000 wildly enthusiastic fans can attest.

Willie is back better than ever after a severe bout with the flu that caused him to cancel his original Feb. 17 date during the Space Coast Seafood Festival.

Willie will be 85-years old next month, but as he bounded on to the stage at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera, he didn’t waste any time getting down to business singing many of his hits of the last six decades.

Most of the sold-out crowd repeatedly jumped out of their seats during his rousing 75-minute performance, and many fans traveled from all over Florida, and the country, to hear the hero of their youth live before the icon heads into retirement, which is obviously no time soon.

“We’ve seen Willie play many times over the last 30 years and his show tonight was one of the best,” said Debbie Waldrop, who traveled from North Carolina to enjoy a perfect Space Coast March evening with the temperatures in the high 50s under a crystal clear moon-lit sky.

Opening for Wille, and wowing the huge crowd was “Levon,” one of the hottest new country bands out of Nashville.  Levon features Michael David Hall, Jake Singleton and Ryan Holladay, and is dually signed to Sony Music’s Columbia Nashville and Epic Records.

The Willie Nelson concert was sponsored by Health First’s Viera Hospital, Space Coast Daily, News 6, Rock Paper Simple, Giant RV World and Savings Safari.
