Monique Claus, of The Hague, Netherlands, wrote this poem, and created this beautiful artwork, Wall of Luck. This is the wall and gate of Willie Nelson’s ranch in Texas, with his brand on the gate. (I think it’ s his brand; it looks like a brand).
I thank Monique for sending me a copy of her poem and photo, Wall of Luck. Monique re-designed the Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute, with Liz O’Garveyand Jay Greathouse, and this beautiful artwork was originally posted there. I’m so grateful to have a copy.
Wall of Luck
You might call a wall a demarcation
a demarcation between people and placesYou might call a wall a separation
a separation between you and meYou might call a wall an isolation
an isolation between me and myselfI call this wall the Wall of Unity
the wall that brings people togeter
brings them together for helping others in need
it doesn’t matter who or what these others are
it could be men, it cold be horses, or even
Mother EarthI call this wall the Wall of Peace
the wall that brings people together for
working on A Peaceful SolutionI call this wall the Wall of Luck, becasue
we should be lucky having walls like this
