Mary Jane Lane, in San Francisco
Dear Linda,
For the third year – since that first show when the Promise of the real rocked me with a peaceful solution — I have marched in the anniversary of the Iraq war protest march in the streets of San Francisco.
The past few years the sign has been hand written so this year I thought it might work better if I borrow Micah’s art and make the letters darker so that you could see it in Washington — from the news dispatches from the middle east yesterday it is apparent my signs need to get a whole hell of a lot bigger — but I am not going to let it dampen my spirits.
A lot of regular first time marchers stood with me in the rain and hail-there was music, marching drums and a drum circle where we danced in front of the St. Francis Church for 20 minutes in a drum circle — boy we could have used Tato and Anthony.
If you agree you should put something in the blog about organizing all like fans to make their own peaceful solution and join me in the streets of their city to shout down the war!!! We could make it competitive to see which cities have the biggest turn out of fans!
Anyway thought you might enjoy. I have been following Lukas’ music since the fillmore inauguration show in jan 09. I am on lucky #17 tonight….
