Colorado voters approved an amendment legalizing recreational marijuana use in Colorado last night. Colorado voted to end prohibition on alcohol before rest of country and it happened again with marijuana. Within 30 days, Governor Hickenlooper should sign the Amendment into law, making it legal for adults in Colorado to possess small amounts of marijuana, and to grow a few plants. Then the legislature will go to work to figure out who can sell it, where you can use it, etc. There will be law suits filed against it, too, it’s still against the Federal law, but the people of Colorado have spoken! And maybe more people will take a look at this, and marijuana can be re-classified.
Amendment 64 led late Tuesday night with 53.3 percent voting yes and 46.7 percent voting no, with 1,863,535 votes or about 66 percent of active voters counted, according to the Colorado Secretary of State’s office, as reported by the Denver Post.
